Although the players were understandably disappointed to get beaten in a very close Top Club Final yesterday they had a brilliant run to the final and should be proud of what they have achieved both yesterday and over the past 2 weeks winning what was a record haul of medals for Cheltenham BC (not forgetting Gloucestershire!). Congratulations to all. With thanks to all supporters especially those who braved the conditions yesterday.

2026 GBA Competitions Finals Playing Scedule
Ladies League. Last Tuesday saw the LGL A team finish off the league with a great win against Coleford winning on both rinks 34-3 and 20-12 and picking up the full 8 points. Unfortunately this didn’t change our position in the league table where we finished 4th. The LGL B team completed their fixtures a couple of weeks ago and finished a very respectable 6th in Div 2 in what was their first season in the league.
Afternoon Triple League 2026
The Afternoon Triples League has completed, with the result going down to the wire after the final set of matches. The newly formed ‘’Beginners’ team came out on top edging out the ‘Students’ on shot difference.
Due to IT gremlins we are unable to bring you a photograph of the presentation to the winning team, but many congratulations to team Captain Richard Purser and his team.
The prizes, including the runners up, were presented by Bill Cowley of Home Instead who kindly sponsored the competition and provided an after match buffet . Our thanks also to Bill who reminded everyone that there is a trophy for this league which Harry was able to find. Also, many thanks to Gill Dorman for preparing the food.
The ATL will return next year, and we have room for more teams; so why not think about forming a team of your own. Rob & Mary
Members are advised that the Finals Day has changed to Saturday 19th September 2026. This is to avoid clashing with other events.
If any of the pre-arranged games would like to change to this date please advise Steve Barthorpe who is kindly running the event.
Other Matters:
Ladies Captain and Vice Captain are looking at putting on a charity event on the afternoon of Friday 25th September to raise money for FOCUS. This will include the sale of tea and cake, tombola and activities on the green if weather permits. If you are able to donate items for the tombola please bring them along to the club after the tour.
